The Dallas Mavericks front office has been busy for a while now, attempting to piece together another championship team such as 2011’s. We’ve gone the route of signing players to one-year “max” deals, only to see them ride onward to greener pastures without us (Shawn Marion, for example).
As of now, Mavs Nation has lost Tyson Chandler to the Phoenix Suns. Al-Farouq Aminu recently signed with the Portland Trailblazers. The next best thing for Dallas to acquire is Deandre Jordan from the Clippers.
Whatever happens, I’ll be as clueles as you when the final roster is announced, wondering: “When did the Mavs get ‘those guys’?”
Plus, the Mavs need younger legs so he should be the guy for the job.
Honestly, we are looking at possibly the Mavericks’ last chance to land a “big name” to help their title run. This free agency period for Dallas is all-or-nothing, since it will determine their future status as a title-worthy or an NBA Draft Lottery team.
